Let’s take a trip down memory lane, to your grade school science class. Ancient history, right? You probably learned about negative and positive charges. But what does this have to do with commercial cleaning, you ask? Well, the very basic principles at play with physics apply to our work.
What does that look like, you ask? Our team of professionals rely on electrostatic spraying systems to get the job done. Such tools of the trade spray droplets an order of magnitude smaller than those produced by conventional sprayers. In turn, these tiny droplets are given an electrical charge that causes a natural force between the droplets and a targeted surface. (Most surfaces are either negative or neutral.)
Now for another analogy. Remember those classroom experiments with magnets? These droplets become more strongly attracted to the surface area as they approach it. The charge on the droplets pulls the spray towards the target faster than they would travel with the force of gravity alone. Then as if magic, the spray droplets reverse their trajectory and move upwards, when passing a target surface.
Well it’s not magic, but science. Yes, really! The spray coats the undersides and the backsides of the surface, thus forming an electrostatic “wraparound.” In other words, this layer of protection can keep germs from sticking around, thus reducing disease transmission and easing your worry about people getting sick.
Here’s a look at the merits of this technology:
Safer for human contact: Low-volume electrostatic spraying cuts down on possible chemical exposure.
Better results: The small droplet size and improved coverage means the disinfectant compounds can be better distributed, thus improving outcomes.
A healthier indoor environment: Disinfection limits transmission of disease-causing pathogens, meaning fewer sick days and lost productivity.
Less toxic chemical load: As alluded to above, the increased effectiveness means fewer products are needed for disinfection and sanitization. Less is certainly more in this case.
More eco-friendly: By using safer chemicals and curbing waste, the impact on the planet is reduced considerably.
